The Derbyshire County Angling Club has extensive fly fishing waters on the rivers Dove, Manifold and the Derbyshire Derwent with good mayfly hatches on all three rivers.

Fly fishing is available in 22 different locations, on over 25 miles of river and over 250 acres of lakes and reservoirs.

RODS AT CARSINGTON

THE CLUB HAS RENTED RODS AGAIN AT CARSINGTON FOR THE 2010 SEASON.
The fishing is now managed by Carsington Sports and Leisure, they used to operate the booking system under our previous arrangement with Severn Trent and so they know the Club and its needs.

The arrangements are similar to last year with one important change - fishing is limited to boat fishing only.

The Club will have 4 rods available to club members only, we are sorry but the arrangement cannot apply to guests or children/grandchildren.

4 boats will be set aside for Derbyshire County Angling Club members each day.

Boats must be booked 3 clear days in advance e.g. deadline Tuesday close of business for a boat on Saturday. This will avoid boats being tied up and unavailable to day ticket purchasers when they are not required by the Club. If members ring in late and a boat is available CSL Ltd will do their best to accommodate them.

Boats will cost £22 for a full day – they can be double occupancy – members are encouraged to use double occupancy to make more boats available for anglers

Single occupancy is at the reduced cost of £17 Monday to Thursday only

Derbyshire County Angling Club members can only book a boat for a full day, again to avoid restricting boat availability

Members must not visit more than twice a week (please note that their week runs from week Mon - Sun)

2 fish can be killed- they must be first two, then catch and release or catch and release throughout the visit. All brown trout must be returned, other than those which are injured.

BOOKING Members must book 3 clear days in advance.

Members cannot book on the same day that they have just fished.

Members can call at the Centre but telephone bookings are preferred.

TELEPHONE (AS LAST SEASON) is 01629 540478 – the number in the Club Handbook Members can book for themselves and up to one other member. Members can book well in advance but no other bookings can be accepted until that booking is either cancelled or used. Members are encourage to state a time of arrival for their booking and must contact CSL Ltd (01629 540478) if they need to cancel the booking giving as much notice as possible. Where members fail to take up a boat booking they will be liable to CSL Ltd for the charge and will not be able to make another booking until the charge is paid.

There will be a small number of competition days when boats and therefore fishing is not available to Club members. We will try to post these dates on the website. If Club members enter any formal external competitions they will not be able to use the ‘free tickets' available to Derbyshire County Angling Club.

We are hoping to set a date for a DCAC competition / social event when the Club reserve all 20 boats and will confirm exact numbers required 4 weeks prior to set date. Keep an eye on the website and ‘The Osprey' Newsletter for details and how you can participate
